Review – Silent Hill Homecoming

In a nutshell: Silent Hill debuts on the PS3 and XBOX 360 with mixed results.

Why you should play it: It is the first next gen Silent Hill game. Creepy atmosphere. Great horrific visuals. Multiple endings add much need replay value. Unique bosses that will get your heart beating.  The best Silent Hill game since Silent Hill 3.

Why you may want to avoid it: Strange variances in difficulty make the middle part of the game much harder than the end. Extreme darkness will frustrate you after you overlook a key point of advancement. All of the best parts of the story are crammed into the last third of the game.

Final Thoughts: Take away the slow start and a few minor flaws and you are left with one fun horror title.  If you enjoyed any of the previous games in the Silent Hill series, or if you like being scared, then you should get some enjoyment out Homecoming.
